It’s Our One Year Anniversary

Last year we began Diwata Komiks, an independent, diversity-focused comics publishing group to tell stories with characters who look and sound like us — to see ourselves in the stories that we get to pick up and read.

Today we’ve gone from 1 title to 5 comics released (with 4 in development), have had the opportunity to exhibit and speak at some of the world’s largest comic conventions, and had signings at some of the most iconic comic book stores. Most recently, to add to that, we’ve had the distinct honor of being a part of the long-running Filipino American International Book Festival in San Francisco and the inaugural Liwanag Lit Fest in Long Beach leading to our titles now starting to be added to various library collections!

As a part of the Filipino-American community — one of the largest growing Asian-American groups here in the United States, we can’t wait to share more of our stories for all readers to discover.
