Diwata Komiks Returns to San Diego Comic-Con 2026 with Expanded Guest Lineup

Diversity-focused publisher brings New Icons, Maus Squad, and a lineup of award-winning creators to Booth Q-14

SAN DIEGO, CA — Diwata Komiks, the diversity-focused comics company built around genre-forward, globally-minded storytelling, is returning to San Diego Comic-Con, July 23–26 at the San Diego Convention Center. Founded by Emmy Award-winning creative Mark A.J. Nazal, acclaimed documentary producer Joe Arciaga, and international performer and producer Erica Juliet, Diwata Komiks will be at Booth Q-14 in the Small Press Pavilion throughout the convention alongside partners SurrealArts Group, SurrealArts Studios, and Little Brainstorm.

This year's floor lineup includes a growing roster of creators and special guests, with more names to be announced throughout the week:

  • Robert A. Rodriguez — Featured Artist, New Icons, Diwata Komiks

  • Walter Talens — Featured Creator, New Icons, Diwata Komiks

Fans can also catch the team at "Build the World: A Live Ideation Workshop," presented with SurrealArts Group and Diwata Komiks, on Saturday, July 25, 3:00–4:00 PM in Room 11. The panel brings together Kino Scialabba (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Mark A.J. Nazal, stuntman Jesse Miranda (Collateral, Deadliest Warrior), Nicole Caliro, and Mark Jabourian for a real-time ideation session across comics, film, and animation, moderated by Diwata Komiks Editor Mary Pastrano. The panel will also feature a panel-exclusive trailer reveal for special guest Chris Browne's new animated short, Territorial, produced in association with Sony's Content Technology Strategy Committee.
