Maus Squad Debuts Its Preview Edition at ComicPalooza in Houston
The first comic series from SurrealArts Studios and Diwata Komiks makes its public debut in Houston.
From multi-award-winning art director Kino Scialabba (Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3, Avatar, Game of Thrones) comes Maus Squad — the debut comic series from our SurrealArts Studios creative team. Its Preview Edition made its first public appearance at ComicPalooza in Houston.

Fans got a first look at the book, picked up signed copies, and took home original art prints featuring characters from some of the biggest franchises Kino has worked on throughout his Hollywood career.
They also got an early taste of the world he has been building with Maus Squad — a story that follows a relentless templar-enforcer and his squad as they navigate an ancient post-apocalyptic city where creatures, coexisting realities, and a rising darkness all collide.

Kino's background in Industrial Design, Art History, and Cultural Anthropology has always set his visual work apart. Maus Squad is a direct extension of that creative identity, bringing the same cinematic scale and creature-design craft of his Hollywood career into a fully original story.
In addition to the comic, he will be working with Executive Producer Mark AJ Nazal to help bring Maus Squad to life across other media — expanding the world well beyond the page.
